I find myself in the thick of a healing journey at the start of this year. My body is delicate and vulnerable right now. Yes, that comes with its challenges, but one wonderful thing I’m discovering now is how easy it is to tell when my body is stressed. Seriously, I can’t even play certain (most) video games because they wind me up too much.
So in the spirit of letting go of the added stress, I’m going to post below some media I’ve been consuming. I find these accounts to be run by super-positive people who don’t stress my body out. These people remind me to let go and that there’s so much to this world to explore and enjoy. They remind me there is healing in hope. I hope you find them as relaxing as I do! (and a birb bonus—of course I couldn’t do this without some bird-related content!) Comment below and let me know who has been helping you find your relaxing vibes. Also FYI I don’t know any of these people (yet) and I’m not paid to post about them—I just really like them.
Matt and Julia: Remember Julia from GBBO Series 8? She has a Youtube travel channel with her husband and I find them delightful & positive, and their locations are super-compelling (anyone want to plan a trip with me to Almaty, Kazakhstan??)
Tayo Aina: I found Tayo Aina’s videos when I searched youtube for Namibia travel videos. Why Namibia? Many reasons. Those of you who know me best know why. Those of you who have yet to get to know me, I’ll skip to the end: birbs. Even though Tayo Aina doesn’t see my fave bird in his video, I still found his channel to be awe-inspiring and really satisfy my armchair wanderlust.
Emma Cruises: Full disclosure: I have no plans to go on a cruise in the near or far future. I don’t even know how I found the channel in the first place. But I’m glad I did, because I find Emma Cruises to be one of the most delightful, positive corners of the internet. This was my biggest surprise-find of the year.
Bonus: Live bird cams from Cornell Labs. I’m digging the one in Panama right now. I love watching tropical birds in their natural habitats.
